Rich Ellinger joined Cota in 2022 as a Partner and Chief Technology Officer. He previously was an Operating Partner at Cota working closely with portfolio companies on their overall product and go-to-market strategy.

Prior to Cota, Rich was a serial entrepreneur with multiple successful exits. Rich co-founded Saba in 1997, and when Saba went public, Rich ran Saba’s 150-person global R&D organization. After Saba, Rich served as COO of Webs, which was acquired by Vistaprint in 2011. Rich was also the Founder and CEO of Wealthminder, a financial technology company that was acquired by AdvisorEngine in 2017.

Rich started his career as a Senior Software Engineer at Oracle. He received an M.S. and B.S. in Computer Science as well as a B.A. in Political Science from Stanford University.
