The founding team of CAST AI brings together a wealth of entrepreneurial experience that spans decades in the technology industry. Laurent Gil, Leon Kuperman, and Yuri Frayman co-founded the company in 2019 after experiencing firsthand the challenges of managing cloud costs at scale during their previous venture, Zenedge, a cybersecurity company that was acquired by Oracle in 2018.

Their journey into cloud optimization began with a common frustration: skyrocketing cloud bills as their previous business scaled. This pain point inspired them to build a platform that would optimize cloud infrastructure and reduce costs without manual intervention, creating a solution that could benefit every cloud-native company struggling with similar challenges.

CAST AI’s innovative approach uses AI-driven automation to analyze and optimize Kubernetes workloads across multiple cloud providers. Their platform continuously monitors clusters and applies real-time changes to maintain optimal configuration, addressing a critical need as companies increasingly shift toward cloud-native architectures and face the challenges of managing complex, multi-cloud environments.

Laurent Gil is the Co-Founder & Chief Product Officer of CAST AI, a Cota Capital-backed US company that analyzes a company’s spend on cloud services—AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure—then cuts Kubernetes cost by half through automated optimization.

Kubernetes (also known as “K8s”), is an open-source system for automating the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications. Google runs billions of Kubernetes containers a week, and the technology has industry support from VMWare, Mesosphere, Docker, Microsoft Azure, and AWS.
