Sara Shabani joined Cota Capital as Senior Associate in 2026.
As a member of the investment team, she focuses on sourcing, evaluating, and monitoring private investments. Before joining Cota Capital, Sara was a management consultant in McKinsey & Company’s Technology Practice, focusing on AI, data, and compute. She advised enterprises on the strategy and execution of emerging technologies, helping them translate technical capabilities into business outcomes. Sara also worked with software providers on product strategy and go-to-market (GTM) initiatives.
Sara received her Ph.D. in Physics from Columbia University. Her research focused on quantum computing and semiconductors, spanning both experimental and computational. She also conducted research at Google on topics related to quantum AI.
